For My Friend
This isn’t the card that I was going to post earlier in the week. I was going to finish that card this week and never did, and now I’m not happy with it and am starting over. This card was made from a kit of stuff that I got from somewhere … not sure where … But it’s all pink, and I love pink!
Enjoy!

Light Box
Amanda asked how I made my light box. I have to admit, I found the idea on this blog. I didn’t go find the instructions that she used, I just looked at her picture and made my own up!
I initially made it out of cardstock and that just didn’t work – not firm enough, although it did do what I wanted. I took the Thank You card picture from last week using that! Since it did what I wanted it to do I decided to buy some Foam Board at Wal-Mart and re-make it this weekend. I just used packing tape to tape everything together. That is just a piece of tissue paper over the hole cut in the one side (the hole is cut the size of 11×11 inches). It works perfectly! I just shine my Ott Lite through the tissue paper and it gives it the perfect amount of diffused light to take a great picture. No glare or shadows!
I made this one 12×12 inches, but I’m thinking of doing another one that is big enough to do a full 12×12 scrapbook page.

Jack and Benny
I’m really pushing my deadline this week, but I technically still have 49 minutes until the week is over!
The good news is, I actually should have another card to post tomorrow or Tuesday!
This is a page I made of Jack and Benny just this weekend! Ahhh, they’re sooo cute! The paper is retired CTMH, plus Desert Sand cardstock. All the accessories are non-CTMH stuff.
This was actually a banner craft weekend for me. I made a lightbox of sorts to make my card pictures turn out soo much nicer. No more glare or weird shadows! Plus I made a fleece tie blanket – it’s almost football season and I found some Seahawk fleece at Wal-Mart that I loved!
Enjoy!

That’s Amore Thank You
Amanda – I have 1 hour and 38 minutes before this week is over, so I’ve held my bargain so far!
(PS – My week goes from Monday-Sunday).
I actually MADE this card TODAY! And it came fairly easy to boot! Crazy.
I used the That’s Amore paper pack from CTMH and the stamps are CTMH as well!
Enjoy!

Friday POTD
Here’s my Friday picture of the day!
This farmer has just got done a day or two before baling some hay. He had a mish mash of 4 different tractors, all pulling New Holland balers! Each baler had one lonely bale coming out of it when they shut them down!
Enjoy!

Pearl Shopping Wears a Girl Out!
Here’s another page from my Hawai’i book!
And it’s true, shopping really does wear you out! After we all spent way more money at the Pearl Factor than we had intended, we walked over to the Tree House Cafe and had some fruit smoothies! They were yummy!
This layout is just a really simple layout. I decided to keep it for the most part simple with this book.
When I was in Hawai’i my goal was to find something scrapbook related that you could only get in Hawai’i! Well – it was harder than I thought it would be. Wherever I saw scrapbooking stuff, most of it was stuff you could get back on the Mainland! BUT, I did find these buttons that were made out of coconuts! They are so pretty – I took a close up picture of them!
Enjoy!

Picture of the Day!
Today you get to see my POTD!
I find that since I started my POTD Journey that I’m always looking for that perfect picture. I actually already had an idea of what I might do today. A few miles from my house there is a Sunflower field this year. In all my years here, I never remember seeing a Sunflower field – and anyone who knows me knows that Sunflowers are my thing! I’ve been so excited since I found out what they were planting in that field in May!
Anyway, I took a picture of the field last week when just a handful of the Sunflowers were starting to open up – I was shocked because the plants themselves are only about knee to hip high! But this week almost all of them are in the opening stages and the field looks so pretty! Anyway, I was going to take another picture of that field.
But then out of the corner of my eye I caught a Rainbow! It’s very faint, but it’s there. In fact I didn’t even know if it would come through on the camera, but I didn’t take any other picture in hopes that it would! The weather here today was very odd, barely 80 degrees and mostly cloudy all day! But clearly there was some moisture as well for this to form!
This post officially fulfills my obligation to Amanda for this week!
I’m 5 for 5 girl! I don’t know if I’ll get around to posting again until next Monday, so if not, I hope you all have a great weekend!

Thanks a Million!
Here’s a card that I made in May! Just a simple Thank You card!
Amanda – 4 for 4!

Aloha!
I’m 3 for 3 Amanda!
Anyway, this page is of the first/second day that I was on the Island. I spent the first night there by myself as Melissa and Terri weren’t coming in until late the next day! I pretty much just hung out, found the Wal-Mart, found a Scrapbook Store (!!!) and headed the 1 block down to the Beach and got some great shots! My favorite part of this layout is the line of pictures on down the right side of the page! I really love how it turned out!
Enjoy!

More Hawai’i …
Since I’m going to be posting more, I decided to play with my theme a bit. I don’t know if this is the “final” one for awhile, but I probably won’t play with it again until this weekend.
Here’s another Hawai’i scrapbook page. This is the Luau we went to at Paradise Cove. It was sooo worth it, and we had a BLAST! We spent several hours at the actual Cove, plus it included a bus ride there and back! Needless to say, we enjoyed ourselves, and the show was great. Enjoy!
PS – Amanda, I’m 2 for 2!

A Deal with the Devil!
Well – I was forced to make a deal with the Devil today – for those of you who don’t know – that’s Amanda!
We finally talked her into going to the DJ’s Fall Retreat – in exchange, I’ve promised to post at least once a week to the good ole’ blog here!
So, some new things for me. I’m in the process of getting a new tattoo. Most of the outlining is done, but all the coloring and shading is left to go. It’s an addition to the sunflower I have on my right ankle already, and goes down onto my foot. I would highly recommend NEVER getting a foot tattoo, unless you have a really high tolerance for pain. I don’t, and about 5 minutes in was ready to give up – of course, now I don’t have that choice. Anyway, it looks really good so far, and I know it’ll look good when it’s done! We’re going to work on it again in a couple of weeks – maybe finish it. We can only hope anyway!

I turned 34 on June 28th. I started my own little Project 365 that day and will continue to take a picture a day until June 28th, 2010 – my 35th Birthday. I’m calling it my Journey to 35! I’m still playing with the layouts some, so once I have it more concrete I’ll post some of that too.
So for some art I figured I would start with some pages from my Hawai’i scrapbook. I’m surprisingly close to being done with that scrapbook and I’m quite happy with how it’s turning out to boot!
This was Melissa, Terri and I at the Pearl Factory booth at the International Market Place in Waikiki! Needless to say, we all walked out of there much poorer! But with some GORGEOUS jewelry!
Enjoy! (Click image to bigify)!

Seattle Time Lapse Sun Set
I know I haven’t posted in a few months. I’m going to try and get back to posting cards very soon!
But in the mean time, I saw this on CNN tonight and LOVED it. It’s the end of the day Friday April 24th. It’s about 4 hours and 20 minutes condensed into 2 minutes 16 seconds. The end, where you see the planes buzzing by (they look like shooting stars) is my favorite!
Enjoy!

New Motto!
I read this on a scrapbook Message Board this morning and was glad I wasn’t drinking anything because it surely would have come back through my nose!
“Some choose drugs, I choose scrapbooking!”
So, so true!

Footprints Cross-stitch Finish
I stitched this for my Grandma for Christmas this year! It took about 20 hours of stitching time.
The fabric is much lighter in real life, but I didn’t have a good place to take a picture (natural light).

Wedding Card!
WOW – have I been neglectful or what?
I’m hoping with the New Year I might be a little more motivated to start posting more cards. I’ve actually recently gotten a bunch of new CTMH supplies from the newest catalog and they sure are cool! So, I’m looking forward to making some new cards and sharing!
My Mom does something really cool every year – she makes all the birthday cards she needs for the year in January! My goal this year is to sit down and figure out all the cards I need for the year and make them all ahead of time! I have 22 more days to get that done!
Anyway, I went to Cali and Ray’s Wedding Reception last Friday night! It was great fun and a lot of my “scrappin’ girls” were there!
This is the card I made. It was hard to get a really good picture, but I tried my best. I don’t know who to credit the original idea to … Mom sent me a copy of this card from someone’s blog months and months ago. I just remember seeing the card and loving it, so did my best to recreate it. And for those that wanted to know – I started with a 12 x 7 piece of white cardstock and scored 4 inches in from one end (the dress side) and scored 3 inches in from the opposite side (the tux side). At that point, I simply used a pencil and sketched in the rest of the lines and cut!
Enjoy!
