Rodeo!

Sep

Well, I’ve decided that I’m definitely not a Rodeo girl. I always thought it was weird that I’d never been to one considering that we moved to Grant County almost 20 years ago now, and I went to college in Ellensburg where one of the states biggest Rodeo’s takes place … but nope, this was my first one!

To be honest, it’s not my thing. And when not to long into the festivities during the calf roping a horse spooked before the cowboy could get to the calf and tie up it’s feet and the calf subsequently got dragged behind that horse for quite awhile before the 10-15 cowboys could control the situation … well, let’s just say at that point I started some hard core rooting for the animals! And luckily, for the most part, they didn’t disappoint! :)

I will say, the best part of the night was the Mutton Bustin’! Seeing those little 4-5 year old kids on those sheep was GREAT!!! A little girl won – she rode that dang sheep all the way across the Rodeo Ring.

Here are some pictures of the festivities! Alas, it may very well be my last Rodeo – at least for awhile!

The trick riding was fun:

And can I just say, after I learned exactly HOW they make the horses and bulls BUCK, I can’t really say as I blame them for not wanting a cowboy on their back – it takes any sympathy for the cowboy away for me.

Rest in Peace Bill.

After a long struggle with lung cancer, among other complications, my Grandmother’s husband Bill passed away this evening.

For those that pray, please keep my Grandma in your thoughts.

This picture is from May 2007, just a few months before he was diagnosed. They were watching my dogs while I was with my family in Grand Cayman for a week.

High Performance Twin?

So last weekend my Mom was very excited that my Dad had built her this!

All I have to say this weekend is … HA! :) Check this out! This is what my Dad calls the “High Performance Twin” model of the ATG Stand.

When he showed up with it tonight, and the appropriate amount of ooohhing and aahhing had taken place he asked me “Who’s Your Daddy?”

Well, here’s my Daddy!
