Heart 2 Heart Ribbon Challenge

02
May

I’m getting in under the gun again on the deadline but I’ve been having problems getting my picture transferred over to my computer. I need a new card reader I guess! Grr …

Anyway, this weeks Heart 2 Heart Challenge was a ribbon challenge. The challenge was to use at least 2 different ribbons on your card.

I managed to use 3. In my card I used ribbon has my background “paper”. Then I added a little piece of green ribbon behind the clear CTMH button. The paper flower is also CTMH and the stamped image is from the CTMH Treasures set!

Enjoy!

Heart 2 Heart Sketch Challenge

This week the Challenge over at H2H is Let’s Get Sketchy….

I followed it generally pretty close!

My official entry is this one:

The only thing about it that’s not CTMH is the kraft card base.
CTMH Cranberry CS
CTMH Cranberry Grosgrain Ribbon
CTMH Cupcake Sprinkles Stamp Set
CTMH Red Sparkles
CTMH Patterned Paper (very old, and very retired)

But I was on a roll and was really liking the monochromatic look of this card so kept making different versions of the same card:

Heart 2 Heart Challenge

11
Apr

Hi everyone … it’s been awhile, a long while, since I posted artwork!

But I came across this new CTMH Blog yesterday and was inspired to make a card! I have a lot of stuff to actually post, I just don’t have pictures of it all yet! Oops! So, I’ll start here.

This new blog is called Heart 2 Heart Challenges. You should definitely check it out! :)

This is my submission for the current challenge (just getting in under the 7pm PST/10pm EST deadline buzzer).

I made the background piece out of Chocolate and did the faux croc leather technique. I also used the CTMH stamp set Treasures and CTMH bling. The other colors are Sunflower and Sweet Leaf – the only non-CTMH piece is the wide ribbon!

Enjoy!

Flower Pot Pocket Card

30
Aug

I am on permanent “commission” with my Dad to make 3 cards a year for him to give my Mom (Valentine’s Day, Birthday and Anniversary). Yesterday was Mom’s birthday and all of us spent the day in the Tri-Cities going to the Benton Franklin County Fair and Rodeo. More on the rodeo in a later post!

I saw this card on the Split Coast Stampers site and thought it was a good card to make for Dad. The tutorial for it is really easy and located here.

I used the CTMH Bella papers and colored paper flowers. In fact, everything on this card is CTMH, down to the rub ons on the front of the pot!

Enjoy!

That’s Amore Thank You

Amanda – I have 1 hour and 38 minutes before this week is over, so I’ve held my bargain so far! ;) (PS – My week goes from Monday-Sunday).

I actually MADE this card TODAY! And it came fairly easy to boot! Crazy.

I used the That’s Amore paper pack from CTMH and the stamps are CTMH as well!

Enjoy!

Love Your Life

May

Here’s an ATC I put together tonight. This is the new Whoops-a-Daisy paper from CTMH. It’s really not in my comfort zone – being all bright and all – but I made myself use it, and it turned out good I think. I also used the June SOTM and some Dew Drops.

Enjoy!

Paper Bag Book

I made this paper bag book using some of my all time favorite (albeit, retired) CTMH paper. I haven’t decided what I’m going to do with it yet, but I love how it all turned out! Enjoy!

Boom Di Ada, Coloring and New Loot

07
May

I love a lot of the new things in the new CTMH catalog – my favorite papers by far are the Boom Di Ada papers. Plus with the new ric rac … so good! :) This card also uses the Flower Dimensional Elements. I have the scalloped Stampin’ Up punch and it fits one the dimensional flowers almost perfectly!! I had to do a little sanding, but other than that, it works great.

I’ve also been spending some time coloring my new Nellie stamps! Love these little things!!!

And finally, this has been a great mail week for me! I got some new cuttlebug folders, and my nestabilities!!!

Happy Everything

I saw a card this weekend (store bought) that look similar to this one. I really liked the look of it.

It was quick and easy to make, and best of all, I have a purpose for it! :)

Disney Page

30
Apr

Here’s another page I did a couple of years ago.

Mostly I’m posting this because this is my first attempt at playing in Photoshop Elements. I scanned this image, and then merged them in PE. It’s not anywhere near perfect, but for my first time, it’s not bad at all.

I actually do like the way this page turned out though. If you flip the picture that’s on hinges, there is another picture, plus some hidden journaling. And I cut a slit in the page to act as a pocket for my brochures to the Animal Kingdom. This page is created on a CTMH Base Page (cranberry). I did my entire Disney Album from the Base Pages – so quick and easy. I put an 18 page scrapbook together in 1 1/2 days – and I actually like how all the pages turned out as well. It was the first scrapbook I actually COMPLETED for myself.

Enjoy!

Vintage Travel Scrapbooking

I’ve been away awhile. I’ve realized that I just keep making cards just cause. Well – I have cards coming out of my ears! Seriously. I need to be more thoughtful with the cards I make, and try to make them with a purpose in mind. I have all these random cards, that I just can’t use for anything.

Anyway, I’m going to try and concentrate on scrapbooking for a bit. I have a ton to do – I still have the last 12 days or so of my Europe trip from 2000 to go. As I was flipping through my done pages, I found this page – it’s one of my favorite pages from this book so far.

In Barcelona we went to a park where an artist had done a TON of mosaic. I replicated that on my page by created a mosaic with silver embossing powder and scraps of paper. I love how it turns out.

I used the CTMH Vintage travel Papers (LOVE this paper), Pewter eyelets, and chocolate grosgrain ribbon.

Enjoy!

Dew Drops!

21
Apr

I got a nice surprise in the mail today! Thursday night Mom and I put an order of Dew Drops in – 9 bottles total. They showed up this morning already!!!! :)

So of course I had to play! She doesn’t get to see them until Friday – I told her I was going to use them all before then! Which, as it turns out, would simply be impossible as there are hundreds of them!!

This is a simple card. I’ve been seeing variations of it in Blog-land for the last week or two. This paper is the new CTMH Sarsaparilla paper in the Summer Catalog. It went well with the Cowboy Dew Drops! The stamp is from a retired CTMH set – Woodland Sentiments. I really like the way it turned out!

Enjoy!

Finally … a card!

This sketch was borrowed from a card I saw in the new CTMH catalog. My card looks nothing like that card, other than the layout!

The papers are Chatterbox and Bazzill, the ink is CTMH Hollyhock, and the stamps are CTMH Funky Florals (retired I’m pretty sure) and April Word Puzzle. The Buttercup Brads, Baby Pink ribbon, and Baby Pink Safety Pin are all CTMH as well (so are the clear beads, but they are retired as well).

I also used a paper piercer and poked holes in circle shapes in the patterned paper. This is as close as I’ve come to stitching … I’m getting there though.

Ok, I’m beat, need to get to bed!

Enjoy!

This sketch has been floating around all week. There have been so many cute cards with it I decided to try my luck with it.

I’m pretty happy with the way this turned out! Everything is CTMH.
