Canvas Scrapbooking!

So, here’s something that’s way out of my comfort zone on ALL levels:

1 – Canvas
2 – The major use of the color Orange
3 – Rub Ons

I’ve never done a piece of canvas before. I started by picking my picture. This particular picture was taken over 4 years ago – but it’s long been a favorite of mine – it’s me (in the middle), my best friend Melissa, and our friend LeRoy. It’s a great picture of all of us and shows what a great time we were having that particular weekend.

I painted the canvas with MM acrylic paint (orange) mixed with Pearl glaze. Then the green flourishes are actually one huge rub on.

I added the circles as mats for the photo. The word friends is made with my Cricut – cut from vinyl! I’ve had vinyl for my Cricut for a couple of months, but haven’t found a reason to use it – until now.

I’m really pleased with how this turned out and will definitely be working with canvas again soon.

  1. Well, given that I’m part of the subject matter, you know that I LOVE you chose orange for the background. Go Vols! WOOT! ;)

  2. Yep – I love the “friends” in vinyl. It’s amazing what creative insights just pop into a head at 1 a.m.! This turned out gorgeous BTW!
