Disney Page

Published by Tracy on April 30, 2008

Here’s another page I did a couple of years ago.

Mostly I’m posting this because this is my first attempt at playing in Photoshop Elements. I scanned this image, and then merged them in PE. It’s not anywhere near perfect, but for my first time, it’s not bad at all.

I actually do like the way this page turned out though. If you flip the picture that’s on hinges, there is another picture, plus some hidden journaling. And I cut a slit in the page to act as a pocket for my brochures to the Animal Kingdom. This page is created on a CTMH Base Page (cranberry). I did my entire Disney Album from the Base Pages - so quick and easy. I put an 18 page scrapbook together in 1 1/2 days - and I actually like how all the pages turned out as well. It was the first scrapbook I actually COMPLETED for myself.

Enjoy!

Vintage Travel Scrapbooking

Published by Tracy on April 29, 2008

I’ve been away awhile. I’ve realized that I just keep making cards just cause. Well - I have cards coming out of my ears! Seriously. I need to be more thoughtful with the cards I make, and try to make them with a purpose in mind. I have all these random cards, that I just can’t use for anything.

Anyway, I’m going to try and concentrate on scrapbooking for a bit. I have a ton to do - I still have the last 12 days or so of my Europe trip from 2000 to go. As I was flipping through my done pages, I found this page - it’s one of my favorite pages from this book so far.

In Barcelona we went to a park where an artist had done a TON of mosaic. I replicated that on my page by created a mosaic with silver embossing powder and scraps of paper. I love how it turns out.

I used the CTMH Vintage travel Papers (LOVE this paper), Pewter eyelets, and chocolate grosgrain ribbon.

Enjoy!

Dew Drops!

Published by Tracy on April 21, 2008

I got a nice surprise in the mail today! Thursday night Mom and I put an order of Dew Drops in - 9 bottles total. They showed up this morning already!!!! :)

So of course I had to play! She doesn’t get to see them until Friday - I told her I was going to use them all before then! Which, as it turns out, would simply be impossible as there are hundreds of them!!

This is a simple card. I’ve been seeing variations of it in Blog-land for the last week or two. This paper is the new CTMH Sarsaparilla paper in the Summer Catalog. It went well with the Cowboy Dew Drops! The stamp is from a retired CTMH set - Woodland Sentiments. I really like the way it turned out!

Enjoy!

I’m just playing with my Blog Themes. Bear with me over the next couple of days, I’ll probably be test-driving a couple.

Thanks!

Here’s another BG Sugared card. Very simple, but I really like the color combos on this line of paper.

I also used Marvy Oval punches, large eyelets, and Bazzill. The stamp set is from a retired CTMH set.

Enjoy!

Canvas Scrapbooking!

Published by Tracy on April 6, 2008

So, here’s something that’s way out of my comfort zone on ALL levels:

1 - Canvas
2 - The major use of the color Orange
3 - Rub Ons

I’ve never done a piece of canvas before. I started by picking my picture. This particular picture was taken over 4 years ago - but it’s long been a favorite of mine - it’s me (in the middle), my best friend Melissa, and our friend LeRoy. It’s a great picture of all of us and shows what a great time we were having that particular weekend.

I painted the canvas with MM acrylic paint (orange) mixed with Pearl glaze. Then the green flourishes are actually one huge rub on.

I added the circles as mats for the photo. The word friends is made with my Cricut - cut from vinyl! I’ve had vinyl for my Cricut for a couple of months, but haven’t found a reason to use it - until now.

I’m really pleased with how this turned out and will definitely be working with canvas again soon.

Another card! :)

I started this card last night, but couldn’t figure out how I wanted to finish until this morning. I really like the way it turned out.

The flourishes in the corner are actually a rub on. I’ve never really been much of a rub on fan, but my girlfriends who are here for the weekend definitely are. So, they’ve semi-converted me.

The PP is from CTMH Serendipity, and the rub on is on top of a piece of transparency. Then I painted some MM acrylic paint on the back of the transparency, and stamped the saying on top of it in Staz On. The stamp is from the CTMH Legendary Moments set.

There’s a bit of a glare/shadow on the picture. I was having a problem taking the picture. I probably could have photo-shopped that out - if I knew how to photoshop. That’s next on my list of things to learn!

EDIT - Here’s a better, if not majorly angled, picture.

Hi everyone!

I have a couple of girlfriends in from out of town this weekend. It’s one big stamping/scrapping weekend here.

Today we took a “field trip” to the “big town” and did a little scrap shopping. Then made it back this afternoon to start crafting. I love these weekends!

This card includes the new Basic Grey paper “Sugared” - love it of course. I think I love ALL things BG though. I white washed brown Bazzill with MM acrylic paint, and used Foof-a-La buttons. The stamp and scallop punch are Stampin’ Up.

(PS - You still have a couple of days to enter my blog candy!)

Enjoy!

Finally … a card!

This sketch was borrowed from a card I saw in the new CTMH catalog. My card looks nothing like that card, other than the layout!

The papers are Chatterbox and Bazzill, the ink is CTMH Hollyhock, and the stamps are CTMH Funky Florals (retired I’m pretty sure) and April Word Puzzle. The Buttercup Brads, Baby Pink ribbon, and Baby Pink Safety Pin are all CTMH as well (so are the clear beads, but they are retired as well).

I also used a paper piercer and poked holes in circle shapes in the patterned paper. This is as close as I’ve come to stitching … I’m getting there though.

Ok, I’m beat, need to get to bed!

Enjoy!

I’m back … with Blog Candy!

Published by Tracy on April 2, 2008

Hi everyone!

Sorry for the long break. It seems that I just can’t get well. After finally feeling better after the flu (thought it was food poisoning, turns out it was “just” the flu), I now have the head/chest crap that is going around. It’s miserable.

With not being well, and trying to catch up at work from last week, and this week being the end of the month, I just haven’t felt all that motivated to craft.

The one thing I have been feeling motivated on is this. I’ll probably continue to work on it each night for awhile too.

However, I got the new CTMH catalogs on Monday - they don’t go Live until May, but man, there is some cool new stuff coming. I already put my order in, and I’m waiting for the ship notice! LOL Looking at some of the new artwork has finally made me motivated - so I actually made a card tonight!

But first, it’s Blog Candy time! I hit 10,000 hits while I was in the middle of being sick. So here is what I’ve finally come up with for some Blog Candy! All you have to do is leave a comment on this post. If you’re so inclined, I’d love to know what your favorite stamps are right now. I’m always on the look out for some cute ones! :) I’ll leave comments through Monday April 7th, and pick a winner Tuesday morning! Good luck!

Here’s what the random winner will get:

A brand new pack of White Daisy CTMH Sassy Strand fibers
Chatterbox Snap On Square Paper Fasteners
Vellum Metal Rimmed Tags (Circle, Square and Rectangle)
Autumn Leaves Clear Stamps
Autumn Leaves Acrylic Block
Maya Road 2 Ring Layer Chipboard Book
Not Shown: Magnolia (Tilda) Stamped images
