Slider Card Re-do!

Published by Tracy on September 27, 2007

Ok - so I decided that I really didn’t care for the colors I did the slider card below in. SO … redo!!!!!!! :)

Used all the same products, just different colors!

Snow Friends Slider Card

Published by Tracy on September 25, 2007

I got this cool card design from Diane’s Blog “My Little Stampin’ Spot!”. She has a great tutorial on how to create this card. One hint, she makes a note of it in the tutorial, but when you create the slider part, you may need to trim the measurements in order for it all to work properly!

I used CTMH papers (the patterened paper is retired), and the new Snow Friends stamp set (it’s the November stamp of the month). Colors are Cranberry and New England Ivy. I also used Liquid Applique on the pompom on the hat, and some new “bling” from CTMH as the buttons. I did some slight coloring with a water brush and inks. I also used my new Stampin’ Up ticket tag punch! I love that punch!

Enjoy!

Happy Birthday to my friend Jill!!!

Published by Tracy on September 23, 2007

Today (Monday) is my friend Jill’s Birthday! Hope you have a great day!

This card is made with all CTMH product again - the stamps are all retired. Papers are sunflower and hollyhock - 2 of my favorite colors! I made the plaid with my stripe templates.

These are My People!

Published by Tracy on September 22, 2007

There’s a new Blog out there called Scrapping The Music. I was Blog-Hopping the other day and found it.

The idea behind it is you listen to the song they’ve chosen for the current challenge, and then scrap a layout based on the Song. I thought the idea was pretty cool actually.

The current Challenge is Rodney Atkins’ “These are my People” (it’s country for those that don’t listen to it). You can hear the song, and read the words by clicking on the link to the Blog.

I created a 2 page layout. All products are CTMH. Papers are Simple Pleasures Paper Kit, and I used the Rustic Alphabet stamp set. And since pewter is my favorite metal of choice, all embellies are pewter! I also used the new CTMH Scrapbook Idea Book “Imagine” for the layout ideas. I didn’t use the exact layout in the book, but kinda morphed the ones I liked together the best.

Page one is a pic of me and my parents, and my brother and sister in law. Page two are random shots of other family members!

Enjoy!

Autumn Waterfall Card

Published by Tracy on September 20, 2007

All products on this card are CTMH per usual.

Colors: Autumn Terracotta, Barn Red, New England Ivy, Sunflower
Stamps: Autumn Splendor

I stamped the phrase and the leaves from a mix of the colors. I took a piece of felt and dropped the reinker colors on to in making a pad that way.

I couldn’t get a good picture of how it looks when it opens up. But once you pull down on the ribbon you get a view of all the leaves that I stamped.

Boo! Trick or Treat Candy Pouch!

Published by Tracy on September 19, 2007

Here’s a cute little way to hand out candy to the kids this Halloween.

The single serving bag of candy is inside the pouch, and when you pull up on the ribbon bow, the candy slides out!

Trick or Treat!

Here’s a Halloween Card I put together!

I got the idea from a sample card at Impress Rubber Stamps. I also purchased all 2 Stamps and the Bat eyelets there. The detail on the branches is actually black puffy paint - you put it on like glue, then heat it with your embossing gun and it becomes puffy! Very cool.

Guest Artist!

Hi again.

I’d like to share a card made by my Mom. She made this card for my sister-n-laws Birthday. It turned out really cute.

She uses mostly CTMH products as well. Thanks for sharing Mom! :)

Caprice Papers - Thank you!

Published by Tracy on September 17, 2007

This card is another 3×6. I really am enjoying this size of a card for some reason.

The papers are from the new Caprice paper kit from CTMH. It also uses then new Sensational Seals stamp set, and the new edge anchors as well. It’s a really simple card, but I like how it turned out.

Many Thanks!

This is a 3 x 6 card. All products are CTMH - though I think that the papers and most of the stamps are retired now. I loved this paper and bought a few packets of it to keep me stocked for awhile!

Friends!

Published by Tracy on September 9, 2007

This cute little card is made with 2 new sets from CTMH! The birds are from the #2 Solo Set, and the Friends stamp is from the Make My Day set. The papers are from the More To Adore paper kit.

How to … Soot Stamp! (A Tutorial of Sorts)

Published by Tracy on September 6, 2007

So I had a couple of requests from some friends for a “how to” on the Soot Stamping.

I’ll try my best to put together a step by step here, but it’s hard to get some of the pics (cause of the fire involved ya know)!

What you need:

Glossy Card Stock
Stamps (I prefer an Outline stamp)
Candle w/ lighter
Acrylic Spray
Light colored Stamp Pad
Tweezer (not shown)

Step 1 - Cut your piece of glossy cardstock to the size you need. Light the candle. With your tweezers, grip your piece of paper (glossy side down) and run it through the flame. Don’t stop in the flame, just keep running it back and forth. The soot will start to collect on the cardstock. Continue until you have the coverage you desire.

When you are done, it will look like this:

Step 2 - Ink your stamp in the light colored stamp pad. Stamp off on your scratch piece of paper. I do this for a couple of reasons. First, it seasons the stamp. And second, it keeps the soot from sticking/staining to your stamp.

Once you’ve inked it with ink, and stamped off, stamp into the soot. Be careful on this step - the soot will smear if it’s touched.

Step 3 - Spray the stamped piece with the acrylic spray. This will seal the image and prevent the soot from smudging. This will take just a couple of minutes to dry. WARNING - Use this spray in a well ventilated area (preferably outside)!

Step 4 - Finish card as desired.

Hopefully this helps some of you! Good luck, Be Careful, and Have Fun with this technique!

Soot Stamping!

Here’s a quick card I made with soot stamping! It smudged a bit before I could get it sprayed with the acrylic spray … but I still thought this turned out very cute. All items are CTMH.

Flourishes!

Published by Tracy on September 4, 2007

I love this flourish stamp set from CTMH. This is sadly, the first time I’ve used it though I think.

This weekend I went through a lot of my “stuff”. There is a ton that I’ve never used! UGH! I’m going to try and make myself use some of the stuff over the next couple of months that I’ve never used - specifically stamp sets. You wouldn’t believe that amount of stamp sets I have that I’ve not used once, but just HAD TO HAVE!

Anyway - this card is made from all CTMH materials! I really like how it came out. Simple. I tried to angle the card so you could see I put glitter on the ends, but you can barely see it.
